The Sussex County Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency is a community of local parent leaders and volunteers working together to support adults, teens and children.
Parents help other parents to achieve the goals they set for themselves and for their families. Supportive services and fun activities for individuals and families are provided throughout the year.

Family Stability Programs
Parents create Family Success Plans to address strengths and identify goals. Access to parenting workshops, and maternal, child and family services is provided.
Learn New Skills
Life skills classes help parents with significant life transitions, anger issues, financial management, recovery from divorce, communication skills, building self-esteem, conflict resolution, and more.
Help for Pregnant Women and New Parents
Eligible pregnant women and parents of young children can get help with parenting, maternal and child health, child development, literacy and more in the privacy of their own home.
Career Services & Computer Classes
Services designed to help families move towards economic self-sufficiency include goals assessment, job searching resources, career guidance, employment training programs, computer classes and more.
Dances, Literacy Nights & More
The Family Success Center partners with Sussex County elementary schools to host fun activities like Father-Daughter Dances, Grandparent Game Night, Camp Read S'More Literacy Nights, and more.
Fun for the Whole Family
Regularly-scheduled Family Fun Nights include refreshments, games, crafts, family movies, and other activities for parents and children.
Camaraderie and Resources Available
To enhance family stability, The Family Success Center encourages parents to stop by in order to receive support from each other and also to access information community resources, such as child and maternal family health, parent-child activities, housing and other services.
Family Success Center Parent Advisory Board
The Family Success Center encourages parents to become leaders in their community by providing access to training about advocacy, management, interpersonal communication, goal-setting, conflict resolution, collaboration and more.
Parents Helping Parents
Support groups at The Family Success Center allow parents to lift each other up during good times and bad. Monthly Mommy Parties partner education with fun activities and field trips for mothers and their young children.
The Season of Hope Toy Shop Serves Thousands of Children
Thanks to a generous community, over 2,000 children and teens receive new, unwrapped toys and gifts through the Season of Hope Toy Shop each December.
Teen Girls Receive Free New and Gently-Used Prom Wear
The annual Sister-to-Sister Prom Shop distributes hundreds of new and gently-used prom dresses, wraps, shoes, and accessories to local teen girls each spring.
Annual Summer Camp for Young Children
Children ages 5 - 9 enjoy crafts, games, music, stories, dance, and fun activities centered around a different theme each summer. Summer 2017 registration is underway.
Holiday Fun for the Whole Family
The annual Holiday Party features games, treats, carols, crafts and a visit from a special North Pole resident.
Parents and Kids Get Ready for the New School Year
Informational seminars for parents, haircuts and backpacks for kids, dinner, games and more help to prepare families for the new school year.
